Here are some answers to questions that are often asked. If you're question isn't here, please contact me and I can answer any other question you may have.
I’m sure you’ve looked at a number of therapist websites, all of which look similar.
It is important that you choose a therapist who is a member of a professional body. This will ensure they have a been properly qualified and adhere to Ethical Guidelines. I am a registered member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy, Registration Number 386514..
It is equally important that you are able to connect with your therapist. I offer an initial telephone session that enables you to met me and decide if you’d like to work with me.
I offer empathy and understanding. All sessions are confidential.
I have sessions available during the day in person, or the evening online during the week.. I do have a limited number of sessions available on weekends.

Where you genuinely can not afford to pay, I offer a limited number of reduced fee sessions. Please ask in our first meeting if you require this.
If it is important to you, then it is worth talking about. Counselling may help you to make sense of what is concerning you. It is an effective way of looking after your emotional health.
It is important that you are comfortable with your counsellor. The introductory session is a good opportunity for us to meet and ask each other questions. It gives you a chance to get a feel for how I work and to see if we will be comfortable working together.
Get in touch. I will arrange an initial session, where we can discuss your needs , when you'd like to commence and agree how to move forward.
We all have things come up that can make it difficult to attend a session. If you need to cancel for any reason I ask for 48 hours notice. If this is not provided I will need to charge you for the full session price.
We will meet at the same day and time each week. Sessions are for 50 minutes. We will agree how long to meet for in our first session, and review this regularly.
Everyone is different. The number of session you will need will depend on your specific needs and circumstances. We will agree an initial number of sessions when we start, and review our work together at regular intervals
We will review our work together regularly. This gives you the opportunity to decide if you would like to work towards an ending.
Sessions are completely confidential, I will provide detailed information about this in our first session. Your data is kept in accordance with the GDPR. Please see my privacy policy for more details.
I believe that you are the only expert on your own internal world and the only person who really knows how you feel. You know yourself better than anyone and, with the right support, know what's right for you. I will work alongside you as you explore what is causing you difficulty and decide what the best way forward is for you.
